Harvick wins Nationwide pole

Kevin Harvick won the pole for tonight's Virginia 529 College Savings 250 at Richmond Int'l Raceway.

Harvick grabbed his third NASCAR Nationwide Series pole of the season with a lap speed of 123.990 mph around the .75-mile speedway. It's his second pole at the track but first while piloting the Kevin Harvick Inc. No. 33 Chevrolet.

In 19 previous starts at the track, Harvick has racked up four victories and 15 top 10s. He has yet to score a victory with his own team in six starts there, but he is coming off five consecutive top-10 finishes.

Harvick will be joined on the front row at the start of tonight's race by his Sprint Cup teammate, Clint Bowyer. Bowyer led two of the three practices heading into the race and narrowly missed the pole with a speed of 123.887 mph.
