5-place grid drop penalty for Hülkenberg

Williams driver Nico Hülkenberg has been handed a 5-place grid penalty ahead of tonight’s qualifying session in Singapore.

Having changed his gearbox following the first two practice sessions on Friday, the German will now fall five places lower on the starting grid from where he qualifies.

As usual, the penalty will be applied after the qualifying session has finished and will therefore not prevent the 2009 GP2 Champion from moving into phases Q2 or Q3, should he circulate quickly enough to do so.
