Martin to start at the back again

The No. 5 Chevrolet of Mark Martin will have to start in the back for Sunday's Price Chopper 400 because a fuel-pump malfunction forced the team to change the engine during Friday's practice session at Kansas Speedway.

Martin, who is not in the Chase this season, didn't complete a lap in practice. He realized the car had a fuel pick-up issue and returned to the garage.

Drivers must move to the back before the start of the race, regardless of where they qualify, if the team changes the engine.

Sunday will be the second consecutive race that Martin will have to start at the rear of the field. The right rear shock absorber failed a post-qualifying inspection last weekend at Dover, which forced Martin to move to the last row. He finished 12th.
