Photos of Dream Lineup of 33 Indianapolis 500-Winning Cars


Photos of 33 Indianapolis 500-winning cars lined up Oct. 12 on the front straightaway at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The iconic cars were aligned in the traditional 11 rows of three that comprise the starting lineup of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing." The incredible array of machinery ranges from the Marmon “Wasp" that Ray Harroun drove to victory in the inaugural Indianapolis 500 in 1911 to the Target Chip Ganassi Racing Dallara/Honda that Dario Franchitti drove to Victory Circle this year.

These photos celebrate of the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 in 2011. “The Most Important Race in History" is scheduled for Sunday, May 29, 2011.
