Jay Howard to team with Graham Rahal for Indianapolis 500

Graham Rahal doesn’t yet have a team announced for the 2011 Izod IndyCar Series season, but he apparently has a teammate for the Indianapolis 500. Jay Howard confirmed that he will race alongside Rahal in the 500, but neither driver would reveal the team.

“Maybe in a couple of weeks," Howard said.

Both have Service Central as a sponsor. Rahal’s program is for the season; Howard’s is just for the 500.

Howard, the 2006 Firestone Indy Lights champion who ran five races with Sarah Fisher Racing this season, said he is excited about his 2011 program.

“I am signed up for the 500 with a very good team and a very good car," he said. “I’m very, very happy with what’s going on there. If someone said to me . . . do you want to re-sign the way you were (at SFR), same deal, five races, or do you want this deal for one race, I’m definitely, all day long, going to choose this deal."
