Tagliani celebrates birthday down under

Alex (R) met his totally hot Australian wife Bronte (L) while racing CART IndyCars on the Gold Coast in 2001, they were married in 2003

Armor All Gold Coast 600 international entrant Alex Tagliani and his Australian wife Bronte flew in to the Gold Coast at the weekend, just in time to celebrate his 38th birthday from one of the city’s famous landmarks.

Tagliani will pair up with Kelly Racing for the Armor All Gold Coast 600, after a long history on the Gold Coast in both IndyCar and Champ Car including two podium finishes, even meeting his wife Bronte while racing here in 2001.

The pair celebrated the event with chocolate cake while looking out over the streets of the Gold Coast on which he will race across October 22-24, from Q1’s QDeck this morning.

“What a great place to celebrate from, this place is awesome," said Tagliani.

“We are really looking forward to the coming event, the track is quite technical and something I really enjoy racing, and to be racing it in a V8 Supercar is going to be really exciting.

“I can’t wait to get into the car on Wednesday at the test day and get a feel for them again and get some miles under the belt."

The Gold Coast is a special place for the Taglianis, with Alex meeting his wife Bronte at the event in 2001. The pair married in 2003.

“We love it here, it is very special to be back here on the Gold Coast, there are a lot of memories and it is nice to be here," said Bronte Tagliani.

“We love Australia, its my home, and hopefully one day we can come back here and live, but for now it is great to visit and I am looking forward to watching Alex in a V8 Supercar here later this week!"

Each day of the October 22-24 event will see 18 international stars paired with the 29 home-grown heroes of the V8 Supercar Series taking to the concrete jungle of the Gold Coast street circuit, with the skills of these drivers – some of the best in the world – to truly be put to the test by the Aussie V8 Supercar machines and their unique style.

When the checkered flag has flown at the end of each day, 600 Sounds presented by Hard Rock will fire up each night at the Broadwater Parklands entertainment precinct, bringing together a wide range of musical acts across a whole range of genres.
