Danica won’t miss Kanaan

Danica Patrick

Danica Patrick said at Texas Motor Speedway, where she’ll race in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide series race, that while she’ll miss Tony Kanaan on her IZOD IndyCar Andretti Autosport team, she didn’t get along with the former series champion this past season.

Kanaan was released by the Andretti team after his sponsor — 7-Eleven — withdrew its support.

“We weren’t on the best of terms all year," Patrick said. “We didn’t really speak a lot after (Texas). But I’m sure he’ll figure something out. He’s a good driver, and he’s got a lot of good racing in him."
And she said there are others on the AA team ready to take up the leadership void left by Kanaan.

“I think we’ll all feel like leaders in the team," Patrick said. “I really think Tony has so much experience, and he’s been around for so long, and it’s hard for everyone to feel like leaders when Tony’s there. So I think we’ll all feel like that a little bit." blogs.canoe.ca
