Chicagoland to sell single event tickets

Chicagoland Speedway today announced a new ticketing strategy that will see it sell single-event tickets for the first time. The track previously sold only ticket packages that included tickets to all of its events from IndyCar to NASCAR to Nationwide races. Fans in '11 will be able to purchase tickets for single events like the Sept. 18 Sprint Cup Series race. Tickets for the Sprint Cup race will start at $55.

The track also plans to widen the space of its entire bench-seating area next spring. The widening will reduce capacity of Chicagoland by a couple of thousand seats. It currently seats 70,000 spectators.
