Ethanol drives up food costs, electric is the future

As we have stated repeatedly, Ethanol is not a good alternate fuel and even Al Gore who supported ethanol when he pandered to the farmers, admits he blew it and now says it should not be subsidized. We will state our opinion once again – electric cars are the future and all of the USA power plants must eventually become nuclear, supplying clean energy to every electric outlet in the USA, including the one that will someday charge your electric car.

When the USA finally makes a real commitment to install charging stations at ALL commercial establishments, you will see electric car acceptance explode and the cost of batteries driven downward with mass production. You will also see battery R&D explode resulting in much better miles per charge.

We could see the format of racing change with electric cars to a series of sprint races on a Sunday afternoon, with batteries changed between races. A format such as what NASCAR uses every May in Charlotte for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star race would work every weekend – The current format consists of a 50-lap segment with a mandatory 4-tire green flag pit stop on lap 25, two 20-lap segments, a 10-minute break, and a 10-lap shootout to determine the winner.

The race series that does this first will see every car manufacturer in the world get involved because they all know that electric is the future…..they all have electric cars under development. That series will become the test bed for their passenger cars, which is what racing used to be and what it needs to be again.
