Juan Pablo Garcia joins Jensen Motorsport
Mexican driver Juan Pablo Garcia joins Jensen MotorSport team to race in the Firestone Indy Lights Series next year.
Jensen MotorSport team owner Eric Jensen states: "Juan Pablo is a terrific addition to our Indy Lights program. He has experience in the series and with the Indy Lights car, including a strong sixth place finish at Infineon Raceway in California during the 2010 season. Having confirmed his program so early, Juan Pablo will definitely benefit from extensive pre-season testing to challenge for a pole and podium at the first race of the 2011 season at St. Petersburg, Florida in March."
Garcia, who previously raced in Europe in British F3 and Eurocup Series among others, raced a limited number of Indy Lights races with a best performance at Infineon Raceway this year and wanting to keep momentum in his career, he will race for Jensen Motorsport, a team that can offer him a solid ride in the very competitive Indy Lights Series.
On the other hand, Juan Pablo Garcia said: "I'm delighted to return to American open-wheel racing, after signing with Jensen Motorsport to compete again in the Indy Lights Series. I'm very grateful to my sponsors Freightliner, Mapfre and Eucomex for their continue support. My first race with Jensen Motorsport will be on a street circuit (St. Petersburg, Florida), and I'm really looking forward to it."
"Also, the Team Manager is Michael Crawford, and I've already worked with him. This makes me feel very confident since I've always felt very pleased with his feedback and work. Eric (Jensen) certainly has put together a good team with an interesting pre-season program that will be very important for my learning curve," Garcia added.
