Acura Yacht Club returns as sponsor for St. Pete GP

Thrill-seeking boaters can now rejoice. After a one year hiatus, the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg announces that the Acura Yacht Club will be making a return to the 2011 race. Located on private floating docks in St. Petersburg marina, at turns 10 and 11, the members-only club offers boat owners the chance to watch the event in the lap of luxury. The elegant Monaco-style dock layout is exclusive to the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which takes place March 25-27, and includes numerous benefits such as paddock passes, closed circuit video feed and access to other event sites.

Acura will also continue in 2011 as title sponsor of the Acura Sports Car Challenge, which will feature North America’s top production-based sports car championship, the SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge Championships. The Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will kick-off the 2011 World Challenge season, with top drivers competing for Driver, Manufacturer and Team Championships in the individual GT, GTS and Touring Car categories in a two-round event. Round One is scheduled for Saturday, March 26, while Round Two is on Sunday, March 27.

“This sponsorship provides value to our customers while attracting a new audience of boat enthusiasts," said Tim Ramsberger, Vice President and General Manager of the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. “The return of the Acura Yacht Club offers an experience that, normally speaking, money simply cannot buy. It also improves the experience for everyone."

Private floating docks at the Acura Yacht Club start at $4,000 for a 30-79 foot slip. For those in search of a more spacious area, 80-150 foot slips are available for $9,500. Boaters can reserve their spot at the picturesque St.
