Mercedes F1 team building new simulator
Mercedes Grand Prix boss Ross Brawn has admitted it didn't help a lot that the team was unable to offer Michael Schumacher any runs in a top simulator in 2010. The team however is building a new one, although it won’t be available to use by the Mercedes Formula 1 drivers until 2012.
“It's true that it certainly didn't help Michael in 2010 that he didn't have a top simulator to use to get more virtual mileage in the car," Brawn told Germany's Auto, Motor und Sport. “A new simulator is currently under construction although it won't be fully operational until 2012.
“Daimler is currently building the simulator. It is a very complicated project as this technology is not simply for sale somewhere."
