Kentucky Speedway ticket wait almost over
The track will put individual race tickets on sale at 9 a.m. Jan. 12.
The hottest ticket of the six races at the speedway this year is certain to be the inaugural Cup race on July 9. Ticket prices for the 400-mile Saturday night race will range from $70-$110 depending on seat location.
"I can guarantee you that there are people that have just been waiting, because I hear from them," general manager Mark Simendinger said. "I would certainly suspect (the response) is going to be pretty significant."
The Cup race will cap a tripleheader weekend that includes a Camping World Truck Series race July 7 and a Nationwide Series race July 8. A second tripleheader weekend is scheduled in October. The truck series will return Oct. 1 and the IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights will race Oct. 2.
Tickets for the Nationwide Series race will range from $40-$75. Tickets for the IndyCar Series and Indy Lights doubleheader will run from $45-$80. General admission tickets for the Truck Series races are $30 or $40. Premium seating in the Bluegrass Club and Kentucky Club will be priced separately.
"I don't think price is going to keep people from coming to the track," Simendinger said. "That's a reflection of the economy and it's also a reflection that we've got a lot of seats."
Tickets will be sold at www.kentucky-speedway.com, by phone at 888-652-7223 and at the speedway's offices in Fort Mitchell and Sparta. Cincinnati.com
