Legard confirms BBC F1 exit
A known voice on BBC Radio 5 live's Formula 1 coverage before leaving and being replaced by David Croft at the start of the 2006 season, Legard joined the BBC's television team as the corporation won back rights to show F1 races from ITV for 2009.
However, despite his deep knowledge of the sport, Cardiff-born Legard has often received criticism for his general commentary style.
'Life moves on. Ask Nick Heidfeld or Narain Karthikeyan,' Legard said via his personal Twitter feed on Tuesday morning. 'You never know what's next. To the critical and the complimentary, thanks for the company.'
When asked what his current plans were, he replied: 'Investigating various options, home and abroad, in F1 and outside. Interesting times…'
