Late Start for Dakar Stage 10
A late start to the stage today due to the mammoth 668km liaison drive over the border back into Argentina. The participants are currently tackling the short, but very technical, 176km Stage 10. Will Nasser Al-Attiyah give it everything and try to make a break from Carlos Sainz on his favorite terrain, the dunes, or will he be content with shadowing him, picking up the 2 minutes for catching Sainz in the stage.
Tactics too for the bikes. All Marc Coma needs to do is sit off of Cyril Despres back wheel and let him lead. Stage victories are insignificant when the outright win is at stake.
A battle also in the truck class and the see-saw battle between Kamaz team-mates Vladimir Chargin and Firdaus Kabirov. Both are desperate to be ahead in case team orders are brought into play now that the closest challenger Ales Loprais is out of the equation.
