Team Lotus recruits Dell as technology provider

Team Lotus, a Formula One team based in the United Kingdom, is working with Dell Inc. to use its technology to build race cars and keep them moving faster.

Dell has become the official technical supplier to the team, providing a data center infrastructure, including a mobile data center and 24-hour support.

The mobile data center collects and processes thousands of megabytes of data from each lap of a race so engineers can analyze it to make adjustments to cars during and after races.

Dell, which is based in Round Rock, also is providing hardware including mobile workstations, advanced servers and laptops.
