Lotus waiting for steering parts
Over halfway through the third and final day of testing at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo circuit, Jarno Trulli is yet to set a lap time and will not do so until the squad commences its private run on Friday. At present, the Norfolk-based outfit is awaiting a delivery of power steering parts to the circuit.
Under new-for-2011 sporting regulations, all constructors are able to trade in a day of official testing for a private run, with Team Lotus set to remain in Spain on Friday after not electing to run as rivals’ programs began on Tuesday.
‘New parts for power steering not available until tomorrow, so don't expect any lap times from us today, but plenty of work to do,’ Chief Technical Officer Mike Gascoyne explained via his personal Twitter feed.
