Chandhok tests BF3 car at Pembrey

Karun Chandhok was finally back in a racing cockpit earlier this week, with the former Hispania Racing Formula 1 driver having tested for the Double R British Formula 3 team in Pembrey, Wales. He now hopes to seal an F1 test agreement imminently. In wet-dry conditions, the Chennai man posted 140 laps in Carmarthenshire.

“It's no secret I've been edging towards a test contract in F1 over the past few weeks and after the winter break I felt it was important to do some miles in a competitive race car before getting back in a Formula 1 car," said Chandhok, who was present at the recent F1 test session in Valencia as a Team Lotus guest.

“My good friend Anthony Hieatt (Team Principal) at Double R Racing kindly offered to wheel one of his F3 cars out for me at Pembrey and I have to say I've come away enormously impressed with the current generation of F3 cars."
