Russian Zimin joins Jenzer for 2011

Jenzer Motorsport has announced that Russia’s Maxim Zimin will be part of its GP3 line-up for the upcoming 2011 season, which begins in Turkey in May. Currently 16 years ago, Zimin hails from Siberia and began karting at the age of 6.

After karting for the first time in 2001 and winning the Moscow Cup in 2005, a switch to Finland followed plus a collection of a trophy at the 2008 FIA Champions Gala in Monaco. Zimin graduates to GP3 after finishing fifth overall with Jenzer in last year’s Italian Formula Abarth championship.

“I will give my very best to get great results," said the new team-mate to Switzerland’s Nico Müller. “I'm very happy to remain in the Jenzer Motorsport family because last season I felt at home in the team.

"I hope that, together with them and Nasha Formula, we will reach our targets for the season. I can't wait to get behind the wheel of the GP3 car in official testing this March!"

“We are looking forward to a very exciting season in GP3 with Maxim on-board," added team owner Andreas Jenzer. “We expect him to prove his potential in this demanding series."
