IMS Centennial Speedway unveils this year’s historic 500 ticket

The artwork for the 2011 Indianapolis 500 ticket draws on 100 years of history at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

It features Dario Franchitti celebrating in victory lane last May and includes the 100th anniversary logo and the IMS Centennial Era logo.

IMS creative services designer Brad Walters' design was inspired by the 1937 race-day ticket.

"We continue to pay homage to our rich graphic history by repurposing past ticket elements," he said. "We've pulled heavily from the 1937 ticket while incorporating the colors and feel of our 100th anniversary event logo."

Opening day for this year's 500 is scheduled May 14 and the race is May 29.
