With no live TV 12 Hours of Sebring drives records hits to website

A record-breaking weekend for the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patr¢n at Sebring carried over to the Series’ official Web site. Overall site traffic to americanlemans.com rose 141 percent over last year during the week of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida. All major statistical categories trended upward as well for the 2011 opener.

The site recorded more than 5.6 million hits from Monday through Sunday. Unique visitors doubled during race week from 2010, with page views up 170 percent. The average time on americanlemans.com increased 35 percent. Simply put, more people stayed on the site longer and consumed more content than ever before from America’s greatest sports car race.

Traffic by country also rose sharply as each of the Series’ key markets saw significant increases. Visits from American users doubled; in the UK and Italy, it tripled. Visits from both France and Germany increased nearly four times compared to 2010.

Since January 1, americanlemans.com traffic is up 76 percent compared to the same range in 2010. Unique visitors are up 67 percent, and page views are up 118 percent.

The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patr¢n heads west for its next round – the Tequila Patr¢n American Le Mans Series at Long Beach on Saturday, April 16. The race will be shown live and in its entirety on ESPN3.com in the United States and internationally on americanlemans.com starting at 7:15 p.m. ET.
