Ford unveils new website in recognition of 110th anniversary of first win
Company founder Henry Ford was the winner of that first race, which occurred in 1901.
“There have been so many ground-breaking moments in Ford Racing history, we wanted to highlight those throughout this special year," Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing, said. “Whether it was winning the 24 Hours of LeMans four straight years, Jimmy Clark teaming up with the Wood Brothers to win the Indianapolis 500, or John Force coming back to win his record 15th NHRA Funny Car championship, our racing history in all forms of worldwide motorsports is second to none, and we’re excited to have a website where fans can relive some of these classic events."
The site, www.fordracing110.com, will provide news content, videos, polls, fantasy games, and forums for fans to discuss and comment on various topics.
In addition, the 110th Anniversary Sweepstakes will give fans the opportunity to register for a chance to win a Ford Racing dream weekend in 2012. Five grand prize winners will get to choose a VIP weekend experience for two at one of the following 2012 events: NASCAR’s Daytona 500, NHRA’s Winternationals in Pomona, Homestead-Miami Speedway’s Grand-Am event in March, or Rally America’s X Games in July.
Monthly winners will receive a limited-edition 110th Anniversary coin.
“We feel our fans are the most passionate in all of motorsports," said Allison. “This is the kind of site where we can engage them and talk to them about the greatest moments in Ford Racing history."
