NASCAR still stuck in the stone ages

A reader writes, NASCAR, the last top racing organization to implement the HANS Device (which resulted in Dale Earnhardt and Adam Petty's death), the last organization to ban leaded fuel, the last organization still running engines with carburetors, no transponders on the car so you can verify whether qualifying grids are computer generated or not, one of the last organizations still running Goodyear Tires, etc. etc. comes out with their Car of Tomorrow and it still has no stuck throttle sensor? Clearly the CAR of Tomorrow, like everything else in NASCAR, is the Car of Yesterday.

To have a stuck throttle on Truex's car at Martinsville is unbelievable! At that level it is unforgivable. The much vaunted car of tomorrow is full of safety features, but has no stuck throttle sensor? Indycars have had one for at least 10 years. The 1999 Reynard in my shop has one! John Miller
