Dixon tops Practice 3 at Barber

It was an earlier than usual practice session today for IndyCar teams at Barber Motorsports Park.

With qualifying scheduled to start at 9:25 a.m. and the Porsche 250 Grand Am race set for this afternoon, teams got in a 20-minute session early.

The track was considerably cooler and faster today than it was Friday with every driver turning in his or her best practice time during today's session.

Scott Dixon was the fastest, turning in a lap of 1 minute, 12.138 seconds.

In fact, the top seven cars in practice were the three Team Penske cars and the four Chip Ganassi cars.

Ryan Briscoe was second, followed by Dario Franchitti, Graham Rahal, Will Power, Charlie Kimball, Helio Castroneves.

Of the non-Penske/Ganassi cars, Alex Tagliani was eighth, followed by Oriol Servia and JR Hildebrand.
