Richard Branson loses bet, will dress as woman
Tony Fernandes has confirmed a new date for the much-awaited flight which will see Virgin entrepreneur Richard Branson dress up as a stewardess. On-board one of Fernandes’ AirAsia X flights, the duo will be supplied with music entertainment from F1 team owner turned BBC television pundit Eddie Jordan.
The bet, which began shortly before Christmas in 2009, ended in Fernandes’ favor as the Formula 1 team of fellow airline owner Branson finished lower down in the 2010 Constructors’ Championship.
“It’s official," Team Lotus’ Fernandes posted via his personal Twitter feed on Monday. “Richard Branson will serve as stewardess on May 1st. Special AirAsia X flight. Seats on sale at AirAsia GO. All money to charity. DJ and Eddie Jordan performing."
