The latest in a line of IndyCar drivers from the most popular racing family in the Lehigh Valley will see his name attached to the Lehigh Valley Grand Prix, which has announced a marketing agreement with 24-year-old Notre Dame Green Pond graduate Marco Andretti.
The popular indoor karting venue is permitted to use Marco's likeness in advertisements and promotional materials. The agreement also calls for Marco to hold a fundraiser at Lehigh Valley Grand Prix within the calendar year.
"Most professional drivers got their start in karting," said Michael McCreary, president of Lehigh Valley Grand Prix. "Marco Andretti, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Danica Patrick — they all started their dream in kart racing. Marco's presence at Lehigh Valley Grand Prix gives our young karting enthusiasts someone to look up to and something to strive for."
The quality of the track and karts at Lehigh Valley Grand Prix's facility attracts professional drivers like Marco and other local track drivers looking to sharpen their skills and improve their times.
"Lehigh Valley Grand Prix has the best indoor karting track in the Northeast," Andretti said. "I've been racing go-karts since I was nine years old and I still enjoy stopping by Lehigh Valley Grand Prix with my friends whenever I can. We always have a blast."
