Servia takes Indy rain in stride

Newman-Haas Racing driver Oriol Servia has a practical attitude about the weather in Central Indiana in May.

"You know it's going to rain and you hope it doesn't," he said. "There's nothing you can do. It's always been like this."

What has changed is the schedule, and that's what concerns several drivers, Servia included.

"The problem is, instead of the month of May, it's down to two weeks — and now just one week," he said in reference to having only five full practice days left. So a rain day with this schedule is a lot more painful than it used to be.

"You have to prepare for qualifying and the race the same week. And with 42 good cars here, you'd better be ready for qualifying or you might not make the race." Indy Star
