No. 11 crew wins pitstop competition
The No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet pit crew finished second with a time of 22.714 seconds. A new team event record was set in the quarterfinal round by the No. 14 Office Depot Chevrolet pit crew with a time of 21.472 seconds.
The individual skills winners broke the previous records in each category. Mike Casto, jack man of the No. 14 team set a new individual record with a time of 5.071; Rick Pigeon and Ryan Flores of the No. 14 team set a new individual gas men record with a time of 8.652; Jason Pulver and Austin Craven of the No. 33 team set a new individual front-tire changer/carrier record with a time of 13.901; and Dustin Necaise and Matt Kreuter of the No. 33 team set a new individual rear-tire changer/carrier record with a time of 13.846 seconds. Pulver is a two-time individual champion, securing his first win in 2006. Rear-tire changer Necaise and rear-tire carrier Kreuter are back-to-back individual champions from 2010.
The NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge presented by Craftsman is a fan-friendly event that featured competition between the series’ top-24 pit crews and is the only indoor event sanctioned by NASCAR.
