Saturday morning update from Indy

Ryan Briscoe backed his car into the turn 2 in the first practice this morning. The hit was hard enough to knock the wind out of him, and rescue crews put him on the stretcher, but within minutes Briscoe was walking around and talking to the media. IMS medical staff cleared him to race. The car was damaged in the gearbox plus three corners.

Simona de Silvestro took out her backup car, which she calls "pork chop", at the beginning of the second practice. She posted a speed of 221.600

Mike Conway continues to struggle, only posting a time of 222.422.
