Grand-Am Series teams secure sponsorship deals

Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series team AIM Autosport has announced Gamma88 as its primary sponsor for the races at Road America, Watkins Glen International and Montreal.

Gamma88 becomes the official fuel and oil supplement manufacturer of AIM Autosport’s BMW-Riley Daytona Prototype cars for these three races, having sponsored the team during two races earlier in the season.

Ian Willis, team principal of AIM Autosport, said: “I’m extremely happy that Gamma88 will return for three more races this year. This reinforces that our program is an effective way for Gamma88 to strength its brand and accelerate its growth in the fuel and oil supplement market. We’re confident that we can continue to deliver results with Gamma88 and grow the program next year."

Meanwhile, Trina Solar has agreed to sponsor fellow Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series team Dempsey Racing, committing to developing a solar charity initiative as part of their deal.

Trina spokesman Ben Delman said: “We want to use that positioning to brand Trina Solar and solar in general. I think the technology is at the stage and the market penetration is at the stage where it is time to reach out to more people."

However, Solar has yet to finalize its nominated charities yet, with Delman adding: “I think there’s a number of charities we’ve been looking at. I’m not sure what they’re going to be. I think the details are still coming on that piece."

Dempsey Racing is co-owned by Patrick Dempsey, an American actor best known for his portrayal of Dr Derek Shepherd in medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.
