Toronto race draws highest rating on VERSUS

UPDATE IndyCar earned a 0.5 'final' cable television rating for last weekend's race in Toronto, the second-highest rated series race in three years on Versus (last month's event at Texas Motor Speedway was the highest, drawing a 0.55).

IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard said he is particularly excited about how well IndyCar fared on Canada's ESPN equivalent, TSN. That bodes well, he said, for next weekend's race in Edmonton.

07/11/11 Overnight ratings for VERSUS' broadcast of the Honda Indy Toronto on July 10 were the highest ever for an IZOD IndyCar Series race on the network in the 56 metered markets.

The 85-lap race on the 1.755-mile, 11-turn Exhibition Place street circuit won by Dario Franchitti registered a 0.41 rating. Through six races, VERSUS has seen a 21 percent ratings increase over its 2010 season average.
