MIS announces staff changes
Michael Catalina has joined the speedway staff as a corporate partnerships executive. Catalina has over 20 years of experience in sales management and advertising mostly working in the clothing industry. He was most recently an account representative for LivingSocial.com, an experiential discount site.
Catalina holds a bachelor’s degree from Adrian College, where he was a member of the football team and is an Adrian College Athletics Hall of Fame member. Catalina and his wife Vicki reside in Chelsea, Mich. and have three children, Kelly (21), Anthony (17) and Emma (11).
Additionally, Chad Whipkey, an MIS regional sales and corporate partnerships executive from 2007-2010, returns to the Irish Hills track after a 14-month absence. He was most recently an account representative for Coca-Cola, but has returned to MIS in his former role as a corporate partnerships executive. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and currently resides in Chelsea with his wife Danean and son Tyler (1).
Both Catalina and Whipkey will manage corporate partners’ relationships for the track.
“We’re pleased to add Michael and Chad to our corporate partnerships team," Director of Corporate Partnerships Josh Burgett said. “We encourage any business looking for a beneficial marketing platform or premium client entertainment options to contact our team and we will work together to achieve your specific goals and objectives."
Other staff changes at the speedway include the hiring of Jackie Cooper as project manager and Karen Hively serving as a senior executive assistant to president Roger Curtis, moving from her previous role as an administrative assistant for the corporate partnerships department.
Cooper has a long history at MIS, most recently working as an agent for the MIS ticket office since 2008. Cooper will handle a variety of special projects for the track, including various community functions, and also serve as the contact for facility rentals.
Hively served as a corporate sales assistant for MIS since February of 2008. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Siena Heights University in Adrian and currently resides in Onsted, Mich., with her husband Derek and daughter Avery (2).
