Filippi and Carroll in GP2 reshuffle

Adam Carroll will make his GP2 return at the Nürburgring, rejoining the Super Nova team with which he won on the first ever weekend for the series at Imola in 2005. In the process, Luca Filippi switches to Coloni and replaces the departed Kevin Ceccon.

Northern Irishman Carroll (top) last raced in GP2 in 2008, with his final two races being a double retirement at Monaco. To date, he has recorded five victories between 2005 and 2007. In moving to Coloni, Filippi partners Romania’s Michael Herck.

“I’m happy that a car which should have been driven by Davide Rigon – who passed it on to Kevin Ceccon – will again be drive by an Italian driver," says team owner Paolo Coloni. “With Auto GP being in the hottest moment of its season, with two races in three weeks, Kevin has decided to focus on his main program for the 2011 season, which makes a lot of sense as he is also fighting for the title there.

“So, for me, thinking about Luca as a stand-in was a pretty natural choice. Pushing the best talents from our country has always been our philosophy and I feel that Luca fits the frame perfectly."
