Annett pleads guilty to DWI, loses license for one year

NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Michael Annett pleaded guilty to driving while impaired Friday in North Carolina District Court.

Annett, who registered a blood alcohol content of 0.32 following a Feb. 6 traffic accident, was given a suspended jail sentence of 120 days and was sentenced to two years unsupervised probation, 48 hours of community service and a $200 fine. He must give up his driver's license for one year but can get limited driving privileges in 45 days.

Sentenced by North Carolina District Court Judge H. Thomas Church, Annett will serve no jail time as long as he successfully completes his probation.
