Stewart wins first World of Outlaws race
Tony Stewart has won his share of races on the IndyCar and NASCAR circuits. The auto racing legend can add a World of Outlaws sprint car victory to the resume.
Stewart won his first career race with the famed sprint car series Wednesday night at Ohsweken Speedway. Stewart owns Eldora Speedway, a dirt car track in Rossburg, Ohio, and World of Outlaw sprinters currently driven by series champions Donny Schatz and Steve Kinser. But Stewart had never won a feature with the Outlaws until Wednesday night.
He passed Brad Sweet on the 10th lap and led rest of the way to collect $10,000. Sammy Swindell finished in second place. Jason Meyers, Sweet and Jason Sides rounded out the top five. Schatz finished in sixth place, and Kinser was 11th. Oklahoma City native Wayne Johnson finished 15th — one spot behind Jessica Zemken, who is Stewart's girlfriend.
