Hungaroring weather update: Rain due on Friday

Heavy showers are expected to hit the Hungaroring, scene of this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix, as the second practice session begins on Friday afternoon.

With the Formula 1 circus having already been greeted by rain on Thursday, forecasters predict a dry start to Friday before rain arrives at around 2pm.

Saturday and Sunday should stay dry in their entirety, despite some cloud cover, with ambient temperatures reaching maximums of 24°C (75°F).

The race on the outskirts of Budapest has only once been hit by rain, with showers having affected the 2006 Grand Prix which was won by Jenson Button and Honda.
