Fernandez, Primat in Lola-Aston Martin coupe for Monterey, Atlanta

Aston Martin Racing will return to the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patr¢n by entering the final two events of the 2011 season. The UK-based factory team will enter an Aston Martin-powered Lola coupe for ModSpace American Le Mans Series Monterey presented by Patr¢n and the 14th annual Petit Le Mans powered by MAZDA – the penultimate round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.

Adrian Fernandez and Harold Primat will drive the works Lola-Aston Martin – complete with its screaming V12 engine – as the new factory AMR-One prototype continues undergoing development for the 2012 season. Last year, Fernandez and Primat drove a Lola-Aston Martin to a third-place finish at Sebring (with Stefan Mücke) and runner-up result at Long Beach.

Coincidentally, that car now resides with Muscle Milk Aston Martin Racing. Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr are two-time winners in the Series this year for Greg Pickett’s team – Long Beach and Mosport.

The ALMS returns to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday, September 17 for a six-hour endurance race. On Saturday, October 1, the Series closes its season with the 14th running of Petit Le Mans – the 1,000-mile/10-hour classic at Road Atlanta.
