NASCAR Pocono TV Rating
UPDATE ESPN's coverage of last weekend's main NASCAR event, the Sprint Cup race at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, was ranked eighth among cable programs for the week, the Nielsen Co. said. The race, won by Brad Keselowski, was seen in 3.92 million homes and drew 5.48 million viewers. The coverage was ranked between No. 7 "Pawn Stars" on History and No. 9 "Falling Skies" on TNT, according to the Nielsen rankings. MTV's "Jersey Shore" led the rankings for programs on cable for the week of Aug. 1-7 with 8.78 million viewers. The IndyCar race, getting killed on Versus, had a 0.2 rating and 309,000 viewers.
08/09/11 ESPN's live coverage of the rain-delayed NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway on Sunday, Aug. 7, earned a 3.9 household coverage rating, averaging 5,485,000 viewers, according to the Nielsen Company. The 2010 race earned a 4.4 rating and was the highest-rated NASCAR Sprint Cup race to air on ESPN last year.
