NASCAR prepared to race in rain again
“Racing in wet conditions in nothing new for road courses, but you obviously hope it doesn’t happen for the sake of the fans," said Michael Printup, president of Watkins Glen International. “Even if the Zippo 200 and Canadian Tire 200 start in the rain, I am very confident that our fans will be treated to some thrilling action. Our elevation changes and the banking in our turns should help keep water from standing, but still provide the drivers with challenging conditions that will result in a great show for our fans."
NASCAR will make a decision this morning as to whether qualifying for the Zippo 200 and Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen Sprint Cup Series race will be held per the official NASCAR rule book.
