Chicagoland announces 2012 NASCAR dates

Chicagoland Speedway today announced that the facility, for the second consecutive year, will kick off the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup during the 2012 season on September 15 and 16. In addition to the September race weekend, NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series and Nationwide Series will visit Chicagoland Speedway on July 21 and 22.

Being chosen to host the debut race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup has proved to be an incredibly compelling platform for our fans and partners. We look forward to building on the momentum and excitement from our inaugural 2011 Chase weekend that is taking place on September 16-18."

The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend at Chicagoland Speedway – September 15-16, 2012 – will be kicked off by the NASCAR Nationwide Series with the GEICO 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race getting underway on Sunday, Sept. 16. The July 21 and 22 NASCAR weekend will feature a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race and NASCAR Nationwide Series race. This weekend also coincides with a rare off week for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
