HRT driver Vitantonio Liuzzi has received a five place grid penalty at the Singapore Grand Prix for causing the accident at the start of today's Italian GP.
The Italian driver lost control of his spinning car, slid down the grass on the inside of the first corner and went backwards into the first chicane, taking out and damaging a number of cars, including Nico Rosberg and Vitaly Petrov.
After the race the stewards decided to give him a five place grid penalty for the next race at Singapore. Considering that the HRT's started on the last row of the grid this weekend, the penalty will probably not make any difference to the Italian's upcoming race.
