Hulkenberg to skip Singapore track cleaning exercise
Nico Hulkenberg |
Nico Hulkenberg has reiterated that he hopes to make a Formula 1 racing return with Force India next year, but also repeats that the Silverstone team originally known as Jordan will make no announcement until December.
Having been dropped by Williams in favor of Pastor Maldonado, the 2010 Brazilian Grand Prix pole-sitter has featured in a selection of Friday Free Practice sessions this season, taking turns to drive the cars of Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta.
'I hope I can race with Force India but the team will not decide it before December so I must wait,' the 24-year-old German said via his personal Twitter account.
Hülkenberg will not feature in a practice session in Singapore as Force India hands more track time to its race drivers; the non-appearance will be his first since the Monaco Grand Prix weekend 16 weeks ago.
09/15/11 Via a message posted to his personal Twitter account, Nico Hulkenberg says that he will sit out Friday Free Practice in Singapore in order for Force India race drivers Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta to enjoy more track time.
“I will not drive in FP1 in Singapore because the team wants to give Adrian and Paul more track time and I understand and accept the decision," the reserve driver said.
Marina Bay will mark the first time the 24-year-old German has not driven on a race weekend since the Monaco Grand Prix in late May.
