Iowa Speedway president resigns
Jauron told The Associated Press on Monday he is leaving to become a general manager at Urbandale, Iowa-based C & L Companies, a motorsports manufacturing company.
Jauron oversaw the Iowa Speedway during a period of significant growth with addition of NASCAR Nationwide and Trucks series races. The track's annual IndyCar race also grew into one of the more popular stops on the open-wheel circuit.
The 0.875-mile track is set up for its biggest season yet in 2012, with the two Nationwide races, two trucks series events and an IndyCar race on the schedule.
Jauron's move comes less than three months after the track was sold to Featherlite Inc. founder Conrad Clement and his family.
"We've got a ton of momentum here," Jauron said. "I wish the new owners the best of success."
