Fiery crash mars Bathurst 1000

10/09/11 Ford driver David Besnard walked away from a fiery crash which has marred the Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercar event.
Besnard hit a tire bundle hard on the 112th lap of the 161-lap endurance event, spilling fuel which then ignited along the track.
The Jim Beam Racing Falcon was engulfed in flames but quick-thinking marshals doused the inferno and Besnard got himself out of the car unharmed.

Ford's Mark Winterbottom and Steven Richards sat third with stable-mates Paul Dumbrell and Dean Canto just behind them.
