NASCAR Bubba gets arrested

In true NASCAR Bubba style, Brian Kevin Young was arrested on several charges Sunday night after police say the South Carolina man fired his gun “multiple times" while drinking and celebrating Tony Stewart’s championship-clinching victory in the Ford 400.

According to Charlotte NBC affiliate WCNC, Young was arrested for disorderly conduct, use of a firearm under influence and malicious injury to real property. A story on the station’s web site said that York County Sheriff’s officers responded to neighbors’ complaints of gunshots late Sunday evening.

Young had allegedly fired his 9mm handgun to celebrate Stewart’s victory in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The victory clinched the title for the co-owner/driver, who had been in a heated battle for the championship with Roush Fenway Racing’s Carl Edwards in this year’s Chase For The Sprint Cup.

The station’s story said that information in the report indicated that police responded to the Clover, S.C., home twice, arresting Young after they returned a second time.
