TRG Motorsports Working on Plans for 2012

TRG Motorsports #71 Ford announced today that it has temporarily scaled back on some payroll costs while still continuing to search for sponsorship leading into 2012. TRG Motorsports will continue looking to secure funding to race competitively in 2012 while enhancing their competition side with additional excellent talent in light of all the current layoffs at the major race teams. In addition, TRG is keeping their options open with several winning drivers looking to secure a competitive seat for the upcoming 2012 Sprint Cup season including the upcoming Daytona 500 in February. TRG has some really strong and promising leads as well as some current sponsors heading into next year and will keep working hard on those.

Team owner Kevin Buckler commented, "I'm sad to announce the layoffs, but reiterated that the TRG Motorsports business model has always been lean and efficient which allows us to have competitive advantages in these difficult economic times. Buckler also noted, "Like many other teams in the sport, these seasonal layoffs are unfortunately necessary with the present economic environment. We have kept our core shop, key business leaders, and the administrative staff, all in place and have actually enhanced our Sales and Marketing side—all in an effort to come back efficient, strong and funded in 2012. With many of the teams in front of us– downsizing or closing all together, we are even hoping that we could gain a position and re-take a spot in the Top 35, which would be fantastic." TRG Motorsports
