Detroit Grand Prix seeks volunteers
Racing is back in Detroit after a four-year hiatus, and organizers are looking for some help.
The Detroit Grand Prix Association is seeking 450 volunteers to assist with the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix–in return for credentials for all three days’ activities, access to parties, free meals and more. To volunteer, you must join the association, and there is an annual $15 membership fee.
Four series will battle on the 2.1-mile road course–the Izod IndyCar Series, the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, the Pirelli World Challenge Championship Series and the Firestone Indy Lights Series.
The event is June 1-3, 2012, on Belle Isle, a scenic island in the Detroit River. Check out www.detroitgp.com for details.
