Wilson to compete at Rumble in Ft. Wayne

Jacob Wilson

Firestone Indy Lights driver Jacob Wilson will be competing at the Rumble in Fort Wayne Midget event at Allen County Exposition Center Dec. 30-31 for Moore Racing Enterprises. Wilson will be replacing Geoff Kaiser of Fort Wayne, Ind., who is recovering from a racing injury that he sustained a few months ago.

The event is in its 14th year and contains a main feature each night with supporting events throughout the day. NASCAR champion Tony Stewart will also participate on both days of competition.

Wilson, of Crawfordsville, Ind., has been absent from the series for several years and competed in the final two races of Firestone Indy Lights in 2011. He started just outside of the front row in third position at the Kentucky 100 and finished top 5 in the Las Vegas 100. He is also known for his achievements as a USAC Silver Crown and Sprint Car driver.

“I'm very excited to be back racing in Fort Wayne," Wilson said. “After being away the past few years, it's nice to return to one of the most prestigious indoor races in the country. Racing against an open wheel star like Tony Stewart is just another great opportunity to show case what I can do."

Wilson is no stranger to the Moore Racing stable as he has two outdoor victories the past two seasons driving for owner Don Moore. Kaiser will take over managing the team along with mechanic Clint Wilson, Jacob Wilson's younger brother.

"When Geoff Kaiser had his accident, it was a no brainer to put Jacob in the car," Moore said. “He and Kaiser are two of the best pavement specialists in the country."
