Ferrari wants to do faster pitstops

Ferrari is keen to increase the speed of its pit-stops this year as the Italian outfit strives to find time in all areas of its operation. The new F2012 was revealed online on Friday.

“With pit-stops I think we were third quickest on average last year," says Ferrari Technical Director Pat Fry. “We know some areas to improve and I think we could maybe get our average down by about four tenths and maybe five tenths, if we’re lucky.

“Starts were good – on average I think we were leading the whole grid in terms of start performance – but you can’t be complacent. You’ve just got to make everything better, so we are working on all of the areas and everything we can work on."

Testing begins in Jerez next Tuesday, where Felipe Massa will be first to drive.
