Alonso goes on the offensive

Fernando Alonso has gone on the offensive regarding reports and gossip of a new love interest in his life, since he announced his divorce from Spanish pop star Raquel de Rosario in December.

Alonso has reportedly been romancing 24 year old model Tschumitschewa Xenia, who is Swiss of Russian origin, and had posted a photo of herself on Twitter showing her in the inner sanctum of the Ferrari pit garage, where access is only for VIPs.

Furthermore, photos of the double Formula 1 world champion and Xenia at a concert and at a Ferrari function have been doing the rounds on the web.

“I was on holiday in Rome and in Asia with some friends and anyway it’s easy to do cut and paste with photos," explained Alonso.

“What is certain is the day that I have a girlfriend, my true friends and my family will definitely not be posting photos on the internet. A word is enough to the wise…" added the Spaniard.

12/27/11 Double time world champion Fernando Alonso now has a new girlfriend, 24 year old Xenia Tschumitschewa, also known as "Tschumi".

The blonde beauty is has Russian roots and is a successful model (including Burger King).

Photos of the new couple appeared in the Basque newspaper "Diario Vasco" shot at a concert in front of a hotel. Alonso even tweeted a photo of himself and Xenia where only the Ferrari inner circle has access.

12/20/11 Fernando Alonso and pop star wife Raquel del Rosario have divorced, issuing a statement on Tuesday. The couple had been married for five years.

The double World Champion of 2005 and 2006 met the singer of band El Sueno de Morfeo during the first days of his Formula 1 career, marrying in November 2006. The couple lived in Oxford before moving to Switzerland, although Alonso was reported to have returned to Spain to be closer to his family in May 2011.

Tuesday’s statement reads:

‘After five years of marriage, we have decided to end our relationship as a couple. This has been a very though about and mutual decision. We are separating from marriage, but never as friends, and there is still a very strong affection and mutual admiration to ensure the happiness of the other.
